Dr Torphy provides compassionate care in the clinical setting and discusses research opportunities with qualified patients. He is actively involved in headache research, and he has presented these findings at numerous national and international headache conferences. In addition, he is currently an instructor of Clinical Medicine at Rush Medical College.
Education and Training
Dr. Torphy graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana with a double major Bachelor of Arts in Biology and History. Prior to attending medical school, he held numerous positions with the Johnson & Johnson Corporation. He graduated from Xavier University School of Medicine, where he received the President’s Scholarship. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, affiliated with Presence Saint Joseph Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. Prior to joining the Diamond Headache Clinic, Dr. Torphy practiced at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, where he was named Physician of the Year by the inpatient nursing staff.
Dr. Torphy has attained a Certificate in Added Qualification in Headache Medicine from the National Headache Foundation.
